Which is what I wish I could do. What I wish my husband would do! Life is hard enough and there are things that seem to make it tougher. And for years I was wishing my husband would quit, though I doubt that will happen anytime soon. But I wish I could at least quit the obligation I feel I have this weekend, tied to all of that…..

Which is what I’ve been feeling with knee pain for the last two weeks. I have been reminded today about the importance of stretching after exercising. I have been having some knee pain the last couple of weeks. After trying to deal with it on my own, I went to the sports clinic today. After just one session of them working on the IT band with tissue work, ultrasoud and e-stim, I feel much better! The doc reminded me of the importance of stretching thoroughly every day. She also reminded me of the work I need to do on my quads and hamstrings and how it is not just about the proper exercises but also the proper weight ratios of these exercises. When I am short on time to do everything, she said I need to focus on stregthening the quads and hams. And don’t forget 30 min of stretching. If I do all this just right, I should have less Ouch days!

Time that is. It seems like no matter how late I stay up or how early I rise, I never have time enough to do all the things I need and want to do. For the most part I get done with the things that have to be done “right now.” But then other things get pushed to the back burner. I would have thought having an extra day in the year would help, but that’s not the case. I think no matter how many extra days we had, we would feel like there is never enough time to do it all.

I’ve just been dreaming of what we might get to do this summer to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary!! I can’t believe we are going to be celebrating our silver anniversary this year (I remember my parents and in-laws celebrating theirs!) but it’s exciting and we want to do something special.

I have just been dreaming of something like a week long cruise, either an ocean cruise or maybe a river cruise. Or maybe somewhere we’ve never been like Alaska, or maybe a bit closer like Edmonton. I have always dreamed of visiting Canada. And renting a home for a week in the summer could be very nice! Or maybe Mt. Rushmore or New York City. Or Hawaii. I just don’t know! There are so many choices, especially when just dreaming…
