C is for Computer.

So far I am enjoying my new computer. There is a lot to learn switching from a PC to a Mac, but it’s all good. I think it will be fun when I am able to learn all I need to on the new computer. I will be able to do so much with all the special package features that come with it. I am going to attend as many classes and workshops as possible to learn how to be a great user on this new computer.

B is for Back to Business.

It seems hard to get back to business after the holidays. Back to getting up early. Back to a routine. Back to school work and other regular chores. I admit I sure got lazy over the holidays. I know it was high time for my family and me to get back to business as usual!

C is for Cherries.

As I sit here writing I am munching on a wonderfully sweet summer snack. A handful of cold ripe cherries goes a long way in satisfying that sweet flavor on a hot summer afternoon. No one else in my family likes cherries, so I only buy a few at a time. But each summer as the price on cherries gets a little more affordable, I can’t wait to savor the flavor.

B is for Broken Collar Bone.

My son’s first day at church camp this year, he collided with another kid on the basketball court and ended up with a broken collar bone! I met my husband half way and brought my son home. He threw up the whole way home, due to the pain medication on an empty stomach. He rested all day while I called around trying to get an appointment with an orthopedic for a second opinion on whether he needs surgery. Could not get him in until next Monday! So my son said he wanted to go back to camp. Our doctor came by to check him out and look at the x rays. She said he might as well go back to camp than lay around here miserable all week. So Monday, we will find out if his broken collar bone needs surgery.

A is for All Alone.

With my family gone for a week, there are lots of folks who think I am enjoying my time all alone. Not so much. I have a lonely feeling. Though I know I will get caught up on blogging and reading and maybe getting school ready. But the one thing that haunts me is what my daughter said this morning. She said I will be glad they are all gone, since all I do is gripe about how they never do anything right. Wow. I guess I need to spend my time all alone readjusting my attitude!

C is for Computers for All.

Having a second computer at home for the kids has been really nice. Now, we don’t have to compete as much for time on the computer! I like being able to still get online at the same time one of the kids is one. It cuts down on the impatience of having to wait our turn for all three of us! We were able to use the existing wireless connection for the second desktop by getting a USB connection to plug into the back of the second computer.

B is for Buick.

Which is what I just bought myself! I used the money I have saved from blogging and from some work I did for my mom’s office to buy myself a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. This car is loaded with the things I was looking for, and more! Not only do I have four doors and a third row seat, I have dual air control, seat warmers, a dvd player and many more little niceties! I hope my Buick lasts me several more years!

C is for Church Dinner

C is for Church Dinner.

Last night our congregation hosted a dinner for hurricane clean up crews who have been working away from home helping to get our community restored after hurricane Ike. We were so pleased to have collected enough money to serve a very nice meal for these folks who are living out of trailers eating sandwiches and fast food most meals. The menu included baked ham (complete with brown sugar and pineapple glaze), baked beans, potato salad, green salad, and cookies and ice cream for dessert. I think it turned out very nice for all involved. This is one church dinner that I think was truly appreciated.
